Firstly, you need to put glue over the veneer. It would be advisable if you can add some water to the glue to be applied on easily. Then you have to cut the Red Oak for the sides of the box using by using the table saw.
Now you need to make rabbets on the sides of the box. You can use the table saw with blades or multiple passes with a regular blade.
After you are done with the sides, you now need to cut the tops from the maple plywood to the perfect size and glue the whole things together. In the end, apply veneer on the top of it.
This step involves cutting the edges to bend using table saw. The step is quite easy and can be done quickly.
Now you would need the redwood and cut them into small strips. It would be better to use masking tapes as they are pretty brittle.
Now glue in all the edge banding and inlay. After this, just sand the whole thing with an orbit sander.
Here, you need to carefully cut the whole of the structure made as of now into just half.
Cut out the groves for the hinges using a plunge router.
After the groves have been made properly, you need to glue the Spanish cedar. Here the edges must be sanded properly to let the box tightly closed.
To give the Humidor a final touch, use around 10 coatings of lacquer. After it cures in few days use wet sand with sand paper to give the box an even shine.
